I have observed the Children's department staff doing regular podcasts. It seems to be an easy process and I will do one on my own soon. I have now downloaded a book to my computer, created a Meez and posted photos to flikers. I have learned to create a shortlink for a RSS feed and have posted feeds. I participate in Second life and have finally figured out blogging. Thanks for the opportunities.

I intend to use the MP3 player to listen to audio books. It will be great to use when walking, ironing and even while cooking.

I think that the copyright issues for music are very complicated. We all like to choose a cut from a CD and not have to listen to the whole content. More and more people are useing ipods and MP3's to create and listen to their own music preferences. I think that a small fee for downloading is reasonable.

I have found it difficult at times to learn in this format. My co workers have been generous in helping me when I asked. Several have consistently worked together. I have learned that I don't ask for help often enough--hence when I confused commenting with blogging. I do think that this is an effective way to teach a large number of people at the same time giving them a way to work at their own pace.

I explored catster, I have two very demanding feline housemates and puzzleplayer. I do not have a lot of time to play, but love crosswords. I like the idea of being able to do so. I always admire cat photos.

I have been taking a class about librarianship in Second Life. Second life seems to be the ultimate in social networking. After creating an avatar, one can find groups that have your same interests, can visit other countries, one can interact safely with strangers, visit libraries, take classes, see art exhibits--only ones imagination can limit you.

In this video on course #4, the content moves very fast. I get the point that Web 2.0 links people gobally to the machine to the content to the form. We teach and learn from the machine. Its a pretty amazing concept. Back to My Space and You Tube, the chidrens department maintains a presence and monitors content for teens. We feel that we try to interest and get our message across digitally and in print.
I learn best by by listening then by reading. I find it difficult to concentrate on longer articles from a computer screen. We use a wiki in the children's department to post program scripts and signs and post to RSS feeds about upcoming events every weekday. I looked for cooking sites on Glokker.
